Stop Worrying about Yesterday, because You Can't do Anything to Change it.
By Alicia Giles
You can only do something about right now. Yesterday no longer exist. Stop replaying yesterday in your head and going back to revisit the past, because although it happened, it is no longer there. Nor should you worry about tomorrow, because it doesn't YET
exist. And you are not promised to see it. Make good decisions right now, at this
moment, and make preparations for tomorrow. Make these decisions, for either your future or
the future of someone you care about. Remember yesterday is in your memories,
tomorrow is in your dreams, and now is your reality.
The kind of tomorrow you want, is determined by the decisions of today. Because although you are currently
reaping
the decisions that were made yesterday, you can still either
consistently make better decisions to make for a better tomorrow or you
can continue to make your future dim by making foolish decisions. The
same goes with determining where you will spend your eternity, it is by
choices we make now. We can choose to to live for the one true God
now and our future is an eternal dwelling in heaven or we can live for
the God of this world and spend eternity in his dwelling in hell. Either
way, it is a choice, and it begins now. Not tomorrow, and not
yesterday.
Our yesterday could have been full of righteous living and we fall into sin today, and go to hell tomorrow.
Or we could have had a sinful past and ask the Lord for his forgiveness today and go to heaven tomorrow.
The bible says no one knows the day nor the hour in which the son of man shall come. Nor do you know
the day nor the hour that your own soul will leave your body.
Narrow
is the way to righteousness and broad is the way to destruction. So
many is not willing to forsake sin for the sake of holiness, and what
they are truly doing is forsaking (turning their backs) on righteousness
for the
sake of sin. Because people think sin makes them feel
good. The saying is: just because it feels good, doesn't make it good.
Example eating sweets and the foods that taste good, but isn't good for
us. Let's examine the word good. Morally excellent, virtuous,
righteous. Synonyms for sin is wrong, wickedness, transgression, and
violation of law. So although sin may feel good it is in fact not good.
In
the garden of Eden Eve saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food
and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she
took some and ate it. The sin came because she violated the law or
command
of God. The fruit was not good for her, it brought death to
the spirit and life to the flesh, which was the deception because there
is only life in the spirit and has the capacity to live forever, the
flesh does not.
James 1:14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
1 John 2:16 For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of
what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.
Romans
5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that
one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision
of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the
one man, Jesus Christ.
Satan is the father of lies, there is no truth in him. It is time to stop being deceived by him.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
Notice the word 'only'. So that thing or that sin that feels good it assigned to ONLY steal (steal what? Your joy,
love,
peace, all of the Fruits of the spirit.). And is to Kill you and to
destroy you. The deception is that it feels good, it taste good. The
reality is that you have no love, no joy, no peace. Your flesh is dying ,
and the end
result is your eternal destruction.
1 Timothy 6:9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful
desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
Christ
has come that we might have have life. Notice the word "Might" because
you have to choose life, just like death was brought into this world by
a choice.
Remember if you are living for what makes you feel good
and to please the flesh you feeding a vessel that was created to die and
be left here on earth, for things that will be left here on earth, you
can take any of it with you.
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
Matthew
6:20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and
rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because
God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Like
a predator, Satan and is demons set traps for you to get caught up in.
Addictions, relationships, distractions, self-gain, ect.., all to ONLY
steal, kill, and destroy you.
There is freedom in Christ. It's like opening the cell of a prison, the prison Satan set up in your mind.
Because that is where is began and that is were it has to end. Your decisions begin in your mind.
Start
by changing your environment. If you have a problem with drugs stop
hanging around drug dealers and drug using friends. If you have a
drinking problem stop hanging in bars, and with other alcoholics.
Romans 6:16 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are
slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Pray More & Read Scriptures. The bibles says "Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you. (1Peter 5:7)
Do
not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the
peace of God that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 6:6-7)
So
therefore take your worries to the Lord in prayer, and have faith that
he will help you. Psalms 55:22 says, Cast your cares on the LORD and he
will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. And
as the bible also says: trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean
not to your own understanding (which is causing you to worry), and in
all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight.
